National Police Week

“National Police Week" was enacted October 1, 1962 in the Congress of the United States. This resolution authorized the President of the United States, then John F. Kennedy, to proclaim the calendar week of May 15th each year as Police Week. Each year people across the country gather during the week to honor those who serve their communities through law enforcement and to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
