On 01/24/2012 @ 9:08 AM Officer was conducting a field investigation of a suspicious person @ Terrill Rd. & Mary Lane. A check of this person shows an active warrant out of Hillside. He was placed under arrest, processed and turned over to Hillside P.D. Defendant is a Leonard Madison 21 year old male from Plainfield.
On 01/24/2012 @ 2:47 PM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Westfield Rd. & Morse Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Clark. Driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Jorge Martins 26 year old male from Union.
Between 01/24/2012 @ 11:00 PM & 01/25/2012 @ 8:00 AM a resident in the 20 block of North Ave. reported his unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway was entered and ransacked. It appears that nothing is missing at this time.
Between 7:00 PM & 10:00 PM on 01/24/2012 1 resident in the 60 block of Paterson Rd. reported that his unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway was entered & ransacked. It appears that some compact discs were taken. Value is $100.00.
On 01/25/2012 between 7:00 AM & 8:05 PM a resident in the 100 block of Tillotson Rd. reported her house was burglarized. An unknown person entered and took some jewelry. It is unknown the value taken at this time.
On 01/26/2012 @ 12:45 PM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 200 block of Terrill Rd. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Jersey City. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to Jersey City P.D. Defendant is a Christopher Clinton 43 year old male from Plainfield.
On 01/27/2012 between 10:45 PM & 1051 PM a resident in the 10 block of Waldon Rd. reported a attempted burglary to their house. The resident reported that he heard a noise coming from the rear window. When he went to investigate he saw a white teen wearing a red shirt by his window. The teen started to run towards Linda Pl. where there was other teens. Officers and a K-9 unit check the surrounding area with negative results.
Between 01/28/2012 @ 10:30 PM & 01/29/2012 @ 7:50 AM a resident in the 300 block of Terrill Rd. reported that his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway was entered. Taken was a pair of sunglasses and a GPS. total value stolen is $200.00.
On 01/29/2012 between 10:40 AM & 11:20 AM a resident in the 70 block of Waldon Rd. reported criminal mischief to her fence. The value of the damage to her fence is not known at this time.
On 01/30/2012 @ 1:00 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ South Ave. & Old South Ave. East for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of North Plainfield. The driver was arrested, processed and released by North Plainfield Municipal Court. Defendant is a Roberto Trinta 33 year old male from North Plainfield.
On 01/30/2012 @ 10:25 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Martine Ave. & Watson Rd. for a M.V. violation. While the Officer was speaking with the driver, he could detect a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside of the vehicle. The Officer located marijuana & paraphernalia. The driver was arrested, processed and released pending his court hearing. Defendant is Brian Cordeiro 18 year old male from Scotch Plains.
On 01/30/2012 @ 12:53 PM Officer made a M.V. stop @ South Ave. & Martine Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Elizabeth. The driver was arrested, processed and released by Elizabeth Court. Defendant is a Jack Poffenberger 46 year old male from Garwood.

1/17/2012 to 1/18/2012

On 01/17/2012 @ 9:06 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ South Ave. & First St. for a M.V. violation. A check of the passenger shows active warrants out of Plainfield, South Plainfield, Union Twp. The passenger was arrested, processed and turned over to Plainfield Police Department. Defendant is a Claude Williams 60 year old male from Newark.

 

Between 01/16/2012 @ 9:00 PM & 01/17/2012 @ 10:15 AM a business on South Martine Ave. reported a burglary. An unknown person took the cash register and a $100.00 cash.

 

Between 01/18/2012 @ 6:45 PM & 01/19/2012 @ 10:15 AM a resident in the 10 block of Montrose Ave. reported that her vehicle was gone through by an unknown person. The vehicle was unlocked and it appears at this time nothing is missing.

 

Between 01/17/2012 @ 9:00 PM & 01/18/2012 @ 7:00 AM a resident in the 40 block of Elm Ave. reported a theft from her unlocked vehicle. Taken by an unknown person was a GPS unit. Value is $ 130.00.

 

1/10/2012 to 1/16/2012

On 01/11/2012 @ 7:50 AM Officers responded to a M.V. accident @ Midway Ave. & Hunter Ave. Upon the Officers arrival one of the drivers fled the scene. A check of the area by Officers located the driver that fled. He was arrested and charged with numerous M.V. violations and a criminal charge of Hindering his own apprehension. The driver was released pending his court hearing. Defendant is a Moses Hammond 50 year old male from Scotch Plains.

 

On 01/12/2012 @ 3:50 PM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 300 block of Terrill Rd. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Perth Amboy. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Gregorio Franco 28 year old male from Perth Amboy.

 

On 01/13/2012 @ 4:15 PM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Terrill Rd. & Maxon Pl. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Fanwood, Plainfield, Westfield and Bridgewater. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to Plainfield P.D. Defendant is a Duquan Randolph 26 year old male from Plainfield.

 

On 01/03/2012 a resident in the 30 block of Shady Ln. reported a theft of a package from the front porch by an unknown person. The value of the package is $ 20.00.

 

On 01/15/2012 @ 8:27 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Terrill Rd. & East Second St. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Essex County Superior Court. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to Essex County Sheriffs Department. Defendant is a Derek Cisson 37 year old male from Scotch Plains.

 

 

On 01/15/2012 @ 12:16 PM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Westfield Rd. & Portland Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Crandford. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Steven Becker 52 year old male from Cranford.

 

On 01/16/2012 @ 11:44 AM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 100 block of South Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Elizabeth. The driver was arrested, processed, and released by Elizabeth Court. Defendant is a Akima Stocks 33 year old female from Plainfield.

 

On 01/16/2012 @ 4:07 PM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 100 block of South Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Cranford. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Sergio Sciancalepore 26 year old male from Cranford.
