On 12/20/2012 @ 8:17 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Sheelens Crossing & South Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Jersey City. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Marquis Givens 25 year old male from Newark.

On 12/22/2012 @ 1:25 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Terrill Rd. & Mary Lane for a M.V. violation. While the Officer was speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests which he was unable to complete. The driver was arrested, processed, charged with D.W.I. and released to a responsible person. Defendant is a Jonathan Ritchie 28 year old male from Berkeley Heights.

On 12/23/2012 @ 2:10 PM the victim reported she was parked in the 250 block of South Ave. when an unknown person removed her purse from the open window of her vehicle. The purse contained numerous credit cards and personal information.

On 12/28/2012 @ 11:57 AM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 300 block of South Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Newark. The driver was arrested, processed and released by Newark Municipal Court. Defendant is a Ashley Davis 21 year old female from Elizabeth.

On 12/28/2012 between 4:30 PM & 7:00 PM a unlocked vehicle parked in the 170 block of Farley Ave. was entered by an unknown person who removed money and a GPS unit. Total value taken is $100.00.

On 12/28/2012 between 6:40 PM & 8:15 PM an unknown person entered an open garage in the 10 block of Cottage Way and removed a 26" black men's mountain bike and also entered the parked vehicle in the garage and removed $20.00 in cash. Total value taken is $120.00

Between 12/28/2012 @ 4:30 PM & 12/29/2012 @ 5:15 AM a unlocked vehicle parked in the 30 block of Paterson Rd. was entered by an unknown person who removed compact discs and prescription glasses. Total value taken is $200.00.

Between 12/28/2012 @ 7:00 PM & 12/29/2012 @ 8:00 AM an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of North Martine Ave. was entered by an unknown person who removed compact discs, hat and prescription sun glasses. Total value taken is $430.00.

Between 12/28/2012 @ 7:00 PM & 12/29/2012 @ 8:00 AM an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of North Martine Ave. was entered by an unknown person who removed sun glasses and Christmas gifts. Total value taken is $110.00.

Between 12/29/2012 @ 9:30 PM & 12/30/2012 @ 1:20 AM the victim reported his vehicle was stolen from the 190 block of South Ave. The stolen vehicle is described as a 1991 Honda Accord, black, 4 door valued at $ 6,000.00.

On 12/29/2012 @ 8:34 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Terrill Rd. & Cottage was for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Roselle. The driver was arrested, processed and turned over to Roselle P.D. Defendant is a Laverne Fassett 47 year old male from Elizabeth.

12/30/2012 @ 12:37 AM Officer made a M.V. stop @ Terrill Rd. & East 7th Street for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of West Orange. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Majda Alphonso 31 year old female from East Orange.

On 12/31/2012 @ 1:41 AM Officers arrested a Richard Polhamus 19 year old male from Scotch Plains for criminal mischief to a vehicle that was parked in the 160 block of Pleasant Ave. Polhamus was charged with criminal mischief, processed and released pending his court appearance.

10/25/2012 @ 2:55 PM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 100 block of South Ave. for a M.V violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Linden. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Gwendyne Brown 46 year old female from Roselle.

On 10/06/2012 between 1:49 PM & 1:59 PM a business in the 40 block of South Ave. reported a theft of car parts valued at $ 500.00.

10/05/2012 @ 9:51 AM a resident in the 100 block of Martine Ave. came home to see a suspicious person in her driveway. When this person saw the homeowner he fled on a bicycle. The homeowner called the Police who checked the area for this person. The homeowner reported items are missing from her house. The suspect was located in Scotch Plains with the homeowners property in his possession. He was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. Bail was set at $15,000.00. The defendant is a Olivier Blanco 23 year old male from Scotch Plains.

On 09/28/2012 @ 2:00 PM a business in the 200 block of South Ave. reported a theft of a wedding dress valued at $ 5,000.00. A description of the actor is a white female in her 30's to 40's in age and wearing a red or pink dress.

On 10/01/2012 @ 7:30 PM Officers responded to the 100 block of South Ave. for a person who was asking people for money. Upon the Officers arrival they located a person who fit the description. A check of thsi person shows an active warrant out of Plainfield. He was arrested, processeed and turned over to Plainfield P.D.

Defendant is a Melvin Ross 42 year old male from Newark.

On 09/23/2012 @ 1:02 AM Officer was following a vehicle east on South Ave. when he observed the vehicle weaving. The Officer made a M.V. stop and while speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle for field sobriety test which he was unable to perform. The driver was placed under arrest, processed, charged with D.W.I. ans released to a responsible person. Defendant is a Manual Loarca 31 year old male from Plainfield.

On 09/24/2012 @ 5:05 PM Officer made a M.V. stop in the 300 block of South Ave. for a M.V. violation. A check of the driver shows an active warrant out of Roselle. The driver was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Osniel Hernandez 29 year old male from Elizabeth.

On 09/25/2012 @ 9:29 PM Officer stopped a M.V. in the 60 block of South Ave. for a M.V. violation. While the Officer was speaking with the driver he could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the inside of the vehicle. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle to perform some field sobriety test. The driver was unable to perform and he was placed under arrest, processed, charged with D.W.I. and released to a responsible person. Defendant is a Fernando Lourenco 50 year old male from North Plainfield.

Between 09/28/2012 @ 3:30 PM & 09/29/2012 @ 10:15 AM resident in the 20 block of Cray Ter. regarding a burglary to her house. Jewerely and other items stolen valued at $ 5,000.00.
