The Fanwood Police Dept advises residents to be alert to individuals who pose as workers willing to shovel your driveway or someone looking for a friend's residence. These and other ruses are used to find unoccupied homes to burglarize. If you have an encounter with a suspicious individual or see a vehicle with multiple occupants park and one individual remains in the vehicle while others walk the neighborhood, contact the police department and provide a description of the vehicle, the occupants, and if possible the registration number, along with the location they were last seen. As always, never risk your safety to obtain additional information, instead call the police immediately with the information you already have.
