America’s Night Out Against Crime

AUGUST 5, 2014

National Night Out is a national event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The night is designed to heighten crime- and drug-prevention awareness, generate support for anticrime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals, letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

From 7 to 10 p.m. on August 5th residents throughout Fanwood and across the country are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
