Scotch Plains Pipeline Update

Martine Avenue Pipeline Improvements - New Jersey American Water will be replacing approximately 200 feet of 48-inch main on Martine Avenue between
Madison Avenue and Portland Avenue. Weather permitting, the project will start on or about Monday, April 13, and will be completed on Friday, April 24.
Temporary road restoration work will be completed by May 1 and paving will take place by September. Over the course of the project, we will need access to the project staging area n Raritan Road for the removal of soil.
We do not expect any disruptions to your water service as a result of this work. Customers may experience a slight discoloration of the water when the new pipeline is placed into service. If this occurs, run your water until it is clear.
If the discoloration persists, please call our Customer Service Center.
Work hours will be from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by lights and noise related to installing the new piping. Please know our contractor will work to complete this important project as quickly as possible.
Traffic Sections of Martine Avenue, Madison Avenue and Portland Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. All traffic control will be coordinated with the local police.
